Ann M. Johannsen, OD

152.jpg Dr. Ann Johannsen is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton in 1982. She lives in Claremont with her husband, Jess. They have two grown children, a daughter, Lacy, son-in-law, Jim, and son, Tyler. Dr. Johannsen began practicing optometry in Claremont shortly after graduation and has enjoyed serving her friends and neighbors ever since.

Involved with many charitable organizations, Dr. Johannsen presently serves on several board of directors, including the Claremont Community Foundation and the Southern California College of Optometry Council of Regents. Besides staying active in her profession and community, she enjoys a good physical challenge. She raised support and walked in a Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk (60 mi) and has done four marathons. She has a heart for those in need and has traveled on several medical missions to Mexico and The Philippines, taking donated glasses from her patients and fitting them to the local people. Most of all, Dr. Johannsen really enjoys her profession, Optometry, and has mentored many young optometrists and optometrists in training over the years.
